Coventry City Council and Jaguar Land Rover are working together on a proposal to develop land to expand the company’s site at Whitley and to create opportunities for other businesses to grow.

Whitley South is a proposal to create a 60 acre ‘engineering technology hub’ near to Jaguar Land Rover’s global headquarters. Automotive industry suppliers have already shown an interest in developing the site alongside development anchor, Jaguar Land Rover.

Why are the plans important?

Jaguar Land Rover has plans for long-term growth and to make this possible new research and development facilities need to be constructed. Located less than a mile away from the company’s headquarters, the Whitley South proposal would create additional space to allow the existing site to be improved. Jaguar Land Rover want to create this space at Whitley South.

To create additional employment opportunities for the area, the proposal includes space for other businesses, together with a hotel.
